Patricia Piccinini

I love Patricia (born in Sierra Leone in ’65) because she sees the end of the world as we know it. A few of her recent works here, more on her website.

Dimitri Tsykalov

Dimitri was born in Moscow and now lives in Paris. Some of his works are full of rage (the meat ones), some others are witness this rotting world like a memento mori (the vegetable skulls) and his latest seems just resigned (the knitted credit cards). And the wood skin bear (a puzzle of wooden ammunition boxes) is just amazing! Examples of all of them after the cut!

Christoph Martin Schmid

Martin is a one shot storyteller. I love this photo, it has life, death and the quirkiness of our world in it. Just like almost all of his shots.

Kevin J Weir

Kevin makes amazing and spooky and esoteric animated gif. Check his dark side of the auld times out! More on his website!

Elena Rapa & Dast exhibition: Mutamenti

[Elena Rapa - La prima stagione]

Elena and Dast decided to make an initiation journey to prepare themselves to the next 21/12/2012 prophecies. It starts from the body and soul exploration, then they study the mutation, and after that the apocalypse and at the end the newborn life.

The show will open tomorrow – April 6th – at Fabrica Fluxus Art Gallery in Bari, Italy. Don’t miss it (or at least get in touch with them for a catalog!)

And I had the honor to write e text about the mutation for the catalog of the exhibition’s catalog. More images after the cut!

Florian Rivière

Florian is an urban jammer, he hackerizes the city to give everybody a chance to live it in a different way; he does it through what he finds in the streets (every object is upcycled = upgraded waste) and with a lot of humor. J’adore him! More after the cut!

Ludo

Ludo is one of my favourite urban jammers. He is always green as hope, sharp as a needle, keen as a stalactite and  he plays with words with great style: the pic above is Nine inch snails (he did this double billboard in collaboration with OX). Perfect! A couple more images after the cut. Enjoy

Stanislav Ginzburg

Stanislav was born in 1984 in Orenburg, Russia. He is a photographer rich in empathy and manual skills. Curiophyla is his latest series of oneiric suggestions, memories, and tributes to his family. I love his delicate and symbolic touch, and all the white is mesmerizing, it makes me feel dizzy, just like when it snows.

Francesco D’Isa’s crowd funded project

Francesco is working on his biggest piece so far, Europa. To finish it and to make a perfect print (600x600cm) he needs help. He launched the Sliced Art crowd funded project: people can buy small slices of the piece or even have their portrait in it, plus other benefits(smaller prints, advertisements in it etc etc)! Read everything HERE. At the end of this the piece will be donated to the city of Berlin.

Gary Baseman

Here you can see some amazing results! The show opens tomorrow, March 24th, at Spazio Meme, Carpi, Italy. More after the cut and remember, keep moving.

Clementine De Chabaneix

This is Clementine‘s Flying jacket. She was born in 1972 and her sculptures have something ancient and retrò, with a back to the future attitude. I love the delicate touch, looking at them makes me feel serene.
