Another japanese artist I suggested to my friend Yasha Young for her Keep a Breast Foundation big show in Tokyo is the astonishing Kazuki Takamatsu (born in 1978 in Sendai, where he still lives). Artists have been asked to customize real breast casts. You can see above (and after the cut the back of the cast) his breast cast: his ghostly painting  technique is unbelievable and one of a kind.

Some months ago I suggested some artists to my friend Yasha Young for her Keep a Breast Foundation big show in Tokyo. Artists have been asked to customize real breast casts. I proudly found out that the artists I involved made stunning pieces. You can see above (and after the cut the back of the cast) the delicate and sexy art by Makiko Sugawa (born in 1974): she draws with grace, this is the truth.

I’m moving hence I constantly ramble the web looking for furniture ideas and inputs: I discovered 2011′s Wood casting project by Hilla and I admit, I fell in love with her ideas. It’s like she takes steam punk to real life (check her Glazed Bubble project out!). Metal and wood and nature elements mixed together with alchemy and technique. The past is the future.

I woke up this morning thinking about how much the “message” in urban art is not an optional. Or not?  Maybe things are changing a bit after the long Obey / Banksy wave effect but I’ll be back on this theme later on, this is not the case: a stencil by Decycle, a german street artists, that needs no explanation. I’m a bit late on this, but E-Volo Magazine Skyscraper annual competition always deserves a look. 2012 winner project is Himalaya Water Tower, designed to store water and regulate its dispersal to the land below as the mountains’ natural supplies dry up. Urban Mystification is an Andrea Vannini‘s project. Andrea snaps roads and buildings – mostly in Florence – and remixes and mashes up the urban elements creating new beings and living environments. My favorite are the robot ones! More on his website and after the cut!

Janne was born in Järvenpää, Finland, in 1980. I love this light painting he made a while ago, there is no post production in it, just lights and long exposure. And the effect is so alienating.. we are all alone in this movie lives we are playing. More after the cut and on his website (but one on the top is the special one according to me).

The sun and the rain are interchanging fast this morning. This reminds me of Mary Sue, a multidisciplinary concept, a western cosplay more real than real life, a project that plays with female and teenager roles and worlds. More after the cut and on her website.
